Call for Applications for x5 Steering Committee Members for the Because-We-Can Movement For Youth-Led Organisations in Africa

 

Partners in Sexual Health hereby invite nominations of suitable and qualified individuals to be part of the Because-We-Can Movement for Youth-led Organisations in Africa Steering Committee (SC). The Movement is a Partner in Sexual Health (PSH) initiative and was born out of the Because-We-Can (BWC) campaign. The campaign was a unique coalition of youth-serving Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) organisations and faith based organisations who came together to develop a joint campaign to promote young people’s access to SRHR information and services in 8 Southern African countries. In light of the campaigns success and traction gained across Southern Africa it seemed natural to expand the campaign into a broader movement specifically for youth-led organisations and taking it beyond SADC to other African regions.   

 

A multi-country initiative, the Movement currently comprise of 82 youth-led organisations across 14 African countries, and growing.

The Movement will be a platform to provide organisational strengthening, empowerment, leadership and development, and be a base for knowledge sharing, support, capacity building, training and advocacy. Through collective action we seek to build an Africa movement that meets the SRHR needs of young people.
