Our CEO, Patsy de Lora, is in India with The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and Department of Social Development, South Africa as part of a study visit taking place during 3-10, December 2017 in Mumbai and Bangalore, India.

The objective of the visit is to share best practice models of IPPF and Family Planning Association of India (FPAI) that could inform Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) advocacy in South Africa.

The objectives of the exchange learning tour are to:

  • Enable the South African team to visit programmes working with communities on SRHR / population, development and gender issues (in Mumbai and Bangalore), and be afforded with the opportunity to talk to staff and project participants;

  • Enable the team to meet and talk to decision-makers about SRHR / population, development and gender issues in India, including the achievements, successes and challenges they confront, for example on devolution of responsibilities around SRHR to local authorities.

On the photos, Patsy is with SRHR Youth Volunteers and Activists.
